This is Why I Don't Take the Bus Anymore

Vincent Weiguang Li, 40, is being charged with the second-degree murder of 22-year-old Tim McLean, with whom he was riding a Greyhound bus last Wednesday night, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp., reported.

Witnesses told the Royal Canadian Mounted Police the machete attack was apparently unprovoked. McLean was asleep when he was stabbed repeatedly in the chest. Screams alerted the bus driver to stop about 50 miles west of Winnipeg as passengers ran from the bus. After a four-hour standoff with police, Li was arrested, and McLean's beheaded body was found.

A court hearing for Li was postponed Tuesday. Li was in court in Portage la Prairie for a second appearance after he refused to speak Friday at his first appearance. However, the judge put off Tuesday's proceedings to allow Li to speak with a public defender. [UPI.com]
